Obituary

Joy Marie Zablocki (nee Capizzi) aka Joy Winkler, left this earth surrounded by her family on June 18,, 2023, after a long battle with colon cancer. She had just turned 68 years old.

She was born to Dr. Joseph and Regina Capizzi on June 12, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joy graduated from Casimir Pulaski High School and received a bachelor's degree with honors in business from Concordia University of Wisconsin. Joy lived and raised her family in Franklin, Wisconsin. She was predeceased by her husband Atty. Thomas Zablocki and her parents.

It would be wrong to say that Joy lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Joy stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Joy. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.

She passed her appreciation of finer things in life, love of animals, and feisty personality to all her children and grandchildren. Joy was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Joy is survived by her daughters Robyn Kuney and Megan Rogers, their father and her soulmate Robert Winkler, and her grandchildren Addison, Marek, and Savannah.

She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed. Special thanks to St. Luke's for all your special care. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to Friends of MADAAC or Green Acres Boxer Rescue in her honor.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a future date.
