(Nee Ryan) Found peace Wednesday, November 18, 2021, just shy of her 99th birthday. Joyce treasured her seventy years of marriage with Rudy. Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rudy, her daughter, Coreen (Dean) Wendt, and sister, Jean Picotte. She is survived by her sister, Catherine M. (Mike) Ryan – Sherman, and brother, Joseph J. (Betty) Ryan. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, wonderful friends. Dear friend of the Haskin, Schaus and Groleau families.
Joyce had an engaging personality and cherished time spent with family and friends. She had a fulfilling career at Wisconsin Electric and enjoyed many active years of retirement. She and Rudy travelled extensively, loving their trips to their homelands of Austria and Ireland. Joyce had a competitive spirit and spent many afternoons at bridge club with dear friends and playing scrabble with Rudy.
Joyce spent the final years of her life at The Congregational Home. Many of those who cared for her became her friends. She loved playing games, participating in music programs, visiting with her caregivers and receiving visitors. Joyce always looked sharp and took great care to coordinate her outfits. Trips to the salon were a highlight of her week.
Thanks to the staff of The Congregational Home and Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness to Joyce.
One last limerick from Rudy to Joyce:
An Irish Lass, talents galore
The one sweet soul that I adore
She's nice as can be
And just right for me.
She's cheerful, good hearted and more.
