Joyce Ann Waltz
Joyce Ann Waltz (nee Carlisle), 81, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, following a lengthy, general decline in health and heart surgery. Joyce is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank; their children Mark Waltz (Amy), David Waltz (Christine) and Rachel Wagner (David); grandchildren Megan Waltz Peebles (Trezy), Jennifer Eggert (Matt), Madeline Wagner, Sarah Waltz, Dustin Wagner, Zachary Waltz and Braden Wagner; great-grandchildren Zuri and Agnes Peebles; and her sister Sharon Niederhaus. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Eugene and Mary Matilda Carlisle (nee Barr).
Joyce was born on April 6, 1940, in Princeton, IN, and attended Princeton High School where she met Frank in 1954. They spent their entire lives together after that.
There is no way to describe Joyce other than to understand and appreciate her very strong love and caring for her family. Nothing made her happier than to have the whole family at her home for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other occasion. The louder and noisier, the better. She was a Girl Scout leader. She religiously attended virtually all of her children's and grandchildren's school plays, concerts, and sports activities. She loved hosting dinners and parties for friends and church functions. Christmas dinners for her large church study group was always something to look forward to.
In addition to raising a family, Joyce studied accounting in technical college, taught pre-school for several years, and served as the church organist at Calvary United Methodist Church in West Allis, WI, and Atonement Lutheran Church in Muskego, WI. She served on various committees and church councils and sang in the choirs at both Calvary and Atonement. Many of her closest friends are people she met through Calvary and Atonement.
She clearly was a "people" person and one not afraid to say what she was thinking; but nothing defined Joyce better than her love for and pride in her family.
Services will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church, Muskego, WI, Sunday, August 29th, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. Joyce would want any gifts or memorials to be designated in support of traditional worship music at Atonement. Other groups she supported included Hope Center, Waukesha, WI, and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
