Julee Tindall Scanlon passed away peacefully on Nov 7th, 2025. She was a loving wife, mother and friend.
Born in 1942 in Hayes, Kansas to Eldon Tindal and Fran Rainey Tindal. She moved with her parents to Saudi Arabia at the age of three as part of the Aramco American Oil Company where she formed the wonderful memories of her early life. Of her teenage summer jobs was working on the American compound in the communication center, receiving music, news reels and movies from the U.S, translating them into Arabic for the local Bedouin population. She lived there until the age fourteen, being of the 1st of those who have titled themselves 'Aramco Brats'.
She attended three years of high school at L'Institut de Jeunes Filles (Chexbres, s/Vevey, Switzerland) before returning to the US to complete her High School Career at Linden Hall (PA, est 1746). Julee attended Northwestern University as a Geography Major with a Minor in Asian History, and shortly after having graduated Salutatorian of her senior class spent several years in New York City, NY. She followed the Peace Corps back to the Middle East, and having obtained a job with Kurban Travel in Beirut Lebanon began her lifelong career as a travel agent.
She met William (Bill) Scanlon in Beirut and together travelled and explored the world for several years before getting Married in Turkey in 1974. When the time came to start a family, Bill and Julee returned to the United States, settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and welcoming their son Jeffrey in 1978.
As a mother, Julee supported her son through his every endeavor and was a significant supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, the Whitnall Marching Falcons and the Daily Debutants Drum Corps, as well as a large number of charitable organizations. Julee also had a strong relationship with the Heritage Presbyterian Church where she held several positions and volunteered graciously through the years. She enjoyed reading, skiing, sailing and swimming. She would cheer joyfully for the Green Bay Packers no matter where she was.
Julee continued her career as a Travel Agent w Ask Mr Foster and later Rexnord, retiring in 1994 which consequently was also the start of her 'snowbird' years. Her life is marked by travel logs and photos of exotic locations, banquet formals and capturing the best the world had to offer. Her biggest passion aside from travel was the heat, mostly likely a memory of her days in Saudi Arabia exploring the desert with her childhood friends. Every beach was fair game for a day of sunbathing and enjoying her surroundings. She adored spending time at her father's home in Arizona, with her friends around the pool and appropriately left us this year, strategically, just before this season's first snow.
A Memorial Service for Julee will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Hartson Funeral Home (11111 W Janesville Rd Hales Corners, WI 53130) at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM.
