Julie Truax Rozewicz Born in Hannibal, Wisconsin on July 31, 1947, as the second child of Kenneth and Dorothy Truax.  She was a loving and devoted mother whose life was tragically ended on March 16, 2016 before she had the opportunity to fulfill many of her life's dreams.  She was preceded by death by her husband, George Rozewicz, and is survived by her siblings Jean Keuer (Dr. Jim) of Arbor Vitae, WI; John (Kathie) Truax of Seattle, WA; and Bruce (Donna) Truax of Spring Grove, IL.  Julie is also survived by her son Robert of Milwaukee, five nieces, and one nephew.  Niece Sarah Keuer and Sarah's son Max had a special place in Julie's heart, as they spent many years together as a small family unit in Milwaukee. Julie loved where she grew up and throughout her life, her heart remained with the Hannibal community.  She graduated from Gilman High School in 1965 and attended the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire in 1965-66.  In 1987 she graduated with a degree in Business Management from Alverno College, a liberal arts college in Milwaukee.  Being a student at Alverno was a life-changing event for Julie.  She thrived at the opportunities provided on campus and did exceedingly well academically, while participating in many social and academic activities to assist other students.  She began her career as a payroll clerk and eventually worked as a Project Manager in a multi-billion dollar company.  Julie's life was cut short as she was about to begin a new career path.  She could visualize a new beginning and was excited about what the future had in store for her.Julie had a lovely singing voice and was an avid gardener.  She left volumes of notes and journals for the books she planned to write.  She was loved dearly by all who knew her; she was witty, generous, well-read, optimistic, devoted, happy, peaceful, and selfless.  She was totally devoted to her son Robert and tried tirelessly to get him the assistance he needed for his mental illness.  However, the systematic defunding of mental health services and staffing on the local and state-wide level were obstacles she could not overcome. Interment has been scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 30th, at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee.  Those wishing to honor Julie's life, may make a donation (in lieu of flowers) to: NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) of Greater Milwaukee, 3200 S 3rd St #6, Milwaukee, WI 53207.
