Koski, LaVerne, 87, St. Francis was born to eternal life October 3. She was born Born LaVerne Lillian Luoma in Allouez, Michigan on June 11, 1925. Laverne had 7 brothers and sisters. She married John Koski on 11/17/1945. John and Laverne had 2 children; Dianne (husband Chuck Busateri) and Loretta (husband Clifford Couture). The have 4 grandchildren; Karey Larson (husband Ross Benischek), John Busateri, Katie Chase (husband Jason Chase), and Randy Busateri. 3 great-grandchildren; Finn and Sahai Benischek and Rylan Busateri.Laverne worked in Detroit MI as "Rosie the Riverter". She also worked in a Fanny May candy factory. She enjoyed dancing with Johnny, polka and country western music and ice skating when she was young,. Another favorite pastime was shopping with one of her friends; Emily Mataya, Agnes Jarvi, Virginia Ulicki, or Johanne Couture. Her summers were spent in Upper Michigan in Allouez, Michigan. Winters always included a trip to Florida to spend some time with her niece Patti (Bill) Stevenson. Visitation 5-7 P.M. Monday, October 8, at the funeral home. Memorial service 7 P.M.
