Obituary

Lou "Grace" Gay, age 82 gained her angel wings on August 2, 2017 at home surrounded by family. In celebration of her life we remember her passion for serving others in countless ways; such as making quilts for family and to donate, cooking for church functions or helping to host an LWML convention. Grace loved spending time with family and friends. Holidays were always a high point in her life because she was surrounded by family, and focused on making it special for each person. She loved to travel, whether it was in a station wagon with 5 kids and her mom, flying to Arizona to visit family, sailing across the ocean on a cruise ship or traveling to Lancaster to see family. She enjoyed playing cards and trying out new recipes for her card playing friends. Grace enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the swing, watching the many varieties of birds that visited the multiple bird feeders, watching the flowers bloom throughout the summer and watching the neighbor's cows escape their fenced-in area (and yes, the grass is greener on the other side of the fence). Grace's hobbies included collecting angels and bears, coloring, playing games on her kindle, looking at pictures of family and friends on Facebook and sneaking her adopted dog, Bella, treats under the table. Grace married her childhood "sweetheart" on December 31, 1955. For the past 61 years her favorite thing to do was to spend time with the love of her life, Dewey. Loving wife and best friend to Dewey Gay. Survived by children: Phillip (Ann Blumreiter) Gray, Gail (Bruce) Kriel, Robin (Ken) Palzewicz, Edward (Phyllis) Albright and Arthur (Judy) Albright. Grandmother to Amanda (Christopher) Groth, Melissa (Jeremy) Bonow, Douglas (Carissa) Gray, Lisa Krieg, Amy (Aaron) Chapin, Lori (Jacob) Calteux, Justin (Melanie) Krieg, Joseph Palzewicz, Jonathan Palzewicz and Joshua Palzewicz. Great Grandmother to Ethan, Alex and Matthew Groth, Aria and Silas Bonow, Zachariah Strahota and Claralynn Gray, Skylar Krieg, Abigail, Ashlen, Alisha and Amber Chapin, Renee and Virginia Calteux, Lexi, Hunter and Caitlin Krieg. Best friend and sister-in-law to Janet (Chester) Wesolowski. Survived also by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Grace was proceeded in death by her parents, Phillip and Rosella Alcorn, brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Ruth Alcorn, and daughter-in-law, Terri Gray.Grace was a long-standing member of Hales Corners Lutheran Church.
