Obituary

Marilyn Meyer (nee Fojut) passed quietly on Nov. 11, 2024.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Glenn D., and survived by sons, Steven V. (Jeanne), Jeffery P. (Louise), Michael G. (Julie) and grandchildren Troy O. (Kaity), Sydney E., Julia C., Kate B., Roy H., Peter J. and was preceded in death by Kyle G.

Loving daughter of Roy L. Fojut & Elizabeth M. (nee Bach), and contentious sister of the late Betty Anne Koth (Thomas), aunt to Christopher Scott Koth, great aunt to Zoe E.C. & John C.T. Koth.

Marilyn's father was a machinist who tried to instill some tomboy into his two daughters, which influenced their perspectives for their whole lives.

Roy was also a former lifeguard and Marilyn was lifeguard-certified. Swimming was in her blood and she'd often crow about how she taught numerous neighborhood kids to swim.

She held a spiritual connection to animals. She kept chickens, geese, rabbits and fish, but dogs were her favorite. She rescued abused dogs before that was a thing and went from Standard Poodles to Dobermans, to her last dog, Daisy, a Boston Terrier who brought immeasurable joy to her final years.

Marilyn loved to travel. First with motor homes, then larger trailers, cruises and finally spending the winter in the Florida Keys.

Always a social butterfly, she held court with ceramic classes in her basement with as many as 20 women at a time. She made numerous friends in the Florida Keys as her and Glenn wintered there. She loved entertaining with Packer & Superbowl parties.

She got along with just about everybody, and maintained high school friendships for her whole life.

Marilyn took great pride in her cooking and assembled a list of signature dishes & treats.

She painted for decades, and her last interest in life was arranging and stocking her painting studio.

Although confined to a wheelchair for years, she took care of Glenn right up to the end.

Marilyn's ashes will be scattered on the farm she loved so deeply.
