Garcia, Mario B. Found peace on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Gonzales). Cherished father of Monica (Luke) Warnke, Joseph (Tami) Garcia and Elvira (Ben) Valenzuela. Loving Papa to Ayan, Connor, and Castor Warnke; and Crystal, Pearl, Ben, and Sammy Valenzuela. Survived by his sisters Edna Borrego and Viola Borgas. Preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Petra Garcia, his dear sisters Lamar Marks and Eudelia Guevara, and his brothers Cecilio, Joe, Rolando and Gilbert Garcia. He also leaves behind many close friends and relatives. Mario was born in Dilley, Texas on August 8, 1941, and later moved to Milwaukee, WI as an adult. On January 30, 1964, he was drafted and he served in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and inVietnam for 2 years. He married his wife Linda on April 18, 1964. After returning from the service, Mario worked as a Teamster truck driver in Milwaukee, WI until he retired in 1999. Upon retirement, he decided to fulfill his dream of becoming a farmer in his hometown of Dilley, TX. Mario grew watermelons and cantaloupe and enjoyed being part of the planting, picking, and selling process. He and his wife Linda made many trips during the spring and summer months to watch his crops grow on the Garcia Family Ranch. He will be remembered as a man who loved to talk, had a story for any listener, and easily made friends. He loved his family and cherished his friends. His big personality will not soon be forgotten. The Garcia Family would like to thank the VA Hospital staff for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Mario during his many stays over the past two years, as well as during his last days. The family found comfort knowing he received expert care in his time of need.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be sent to Clement J.
