Mark "Mutt" Lamers (66) of Hales Corners, WI passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 after a long battle with respiratory illness. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI in 1950 and was the first of eight children born to Myron and Marguerite "Marge" (Coulter) Lamers. He attended St. Theresa's Catholic School and graduated from Lomira High in 1968.Mutt enlisted in the U.S. Army and actively served as an engineer from September 1968 until June 1971 when he was honorably discharged. He is a Vietnam veteran, and he proudly developed a lifelong kinship with fellow veterans.Mutt was a skilled mason by trade and took great pride in his profession. He was a member of the Bricklayer Union and retired in April 2009.On March 23, 2004, Mutt married his longtime partner, Linda Hering. Mutt enjoyed coaching and playing softball, playing golf, darts, reading, going to the casino, going to baseball games, and watching Jeopardy every evening.Mutt is survived by his wife Linda Lamers; father Myron Lamers; son Shane; daughter Meghan (Dan) Smith; daughter Ashley (Sam MacLeod) Lamers; stepsons Jeffrey (Corinne) Hering, Michael (Monika) Hering, and David (Kimberly) Hering; grandchildren Trenton, Hunter, Koltin, Hayden, Parker, Gavin, Anderson, Connor, Abigail, Ryan, David Jr., Isabella, and Jonah; siblings Mike (Jeanne) Lamers, Mary (Dave) Tkach, Stan "Rocky" (Nancy) Lamers, Steffie (Dean) Buerger, Shelley (Jeff) Bloch, Ted (Sue) Lamers, and Tim (Lynn) Lamers; many nieces and nephews; and two beloved cats, Pudgy and Slim. He was preceded in death by his mother Marguerite "Marge" (Coulter) Lamers, paternal grandparents Theodore "Ted" and Cecelia Lamers, and maternal grandparents Geoge and Helen Coulter.Visitatation will be held at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Rd., Hales Corners on Saturday, March 25th from 12:00 - 2:30 PM with services to follow at 2:30 PM. Private burial to follow at a later date.
