Mary Hogan, 92, of Menomonee Falls, died peacefully on June 10, 2019 in her sleep at The Ruth Hospice Home in Milwaukee. She was a woman of strong faith and great devotion to our Blessed Mother. She was the proud mother of six boys and one loving daughter. Having a daughter was always a dream for her, and her determination was evidenced by the bearing of six boys before having her. She struggled most of her life caring for her children to give them all they needed to succeed in life. The children owe their successes to her hard work and sacrifice to her family.
Her strong work attitude also manifested in her work career. After 17 years as a housewife, she began work with the KOSS Corporation, and worked her way up to the lead tester on one of the line operations. She was a leader among her peers who respected her and counted on her as their spokesperson to solve problems and keep up production. After 16 years at KOSS, she was able to purchase her first home, another dream she always wanted.
Her faith life was never one of waving a flag. Humble as she was, she prayed daily alone, so few ever knew how devoted to God she was for the strength she displayed. Her greatest devotion was to the Blessed Mother, whom she invoked for help on countless occasions. Her prayer books looked like worn out rags from use and one had to be careful lifting them up. Her prayer life was very strong. Her heart was torn with the death of one of her six sons, Johnny, in 2016.
Mary is preceded in death by parents Salvatora and Giuseppe Fonte and four siblings. She is survived by her sons Ronald (Joni) Washak, Robert (Diane), Thomas (Vickie), Daniel (Katherine), Dennis, and daughter Patricia (Monte) Kuntz. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 13th, 2019, Lumen Christi Parish, 2750 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon, Wisconsin 53092. Visitation 10 AM to 11 AM. Mass at 11 AM.
