It is with great sadness that Pat Neuenfeldt has passed away on January 17, 2026, with her husband by her side on their 56th wedding anniversary. Her passing followed a very long illness with Lewy Body Dementia. She is succeeded by her husband Dennis; her daughters Amy and husband Steve Nutter, and Katie and husband Dan Taucher; and five grandchildren, Molly and Reese Nutter, and Oliver, Zoe, and Spencer Taucher. Another daughter, Jennifer, was lost to the family in 1991.

Pat was educated as a social worker at St. Teresa’s College in Winona, MN, and spent 30 years serving in foster care, adoptions, pregnancy resources, and hospice. She was instrumental in initiating a new approach to adoptions, known as “open adoption”, in one of the agencies in which she worked.

Pat was a lifetime peace activist who was dedicated to improving the quality of life for many who were victims of oppression. Her hundreds of pages of poetry reflected her dedication to this cause, and her recognized skill as a writer of poetry.

She was known by her many friends as a great friend, loving and kind with a delightful sense of humor. We will all greatly miss her.

A funeral service in Pat’s honor will be held at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 West Janesville Road, Hales Corners, on Friday, January 30, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 AM.
