Obituary

Maureen M. (Bartz) Quin

October 30, 1938 - October 2, 2026

Maureen M. (Bartz) Quin passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Maureen later made her home in Greendale. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend whose greatest joy came from the people she loved and the time they spent together.

In the last several years of her life, Maureen's faith grew deeper and became increasingly important to her. She loved Jesus and treasured her church family at Layton Avenue Baptist Church. Her growing faith and the friendships she found there brought her comfort, strength, fellowship and joy.

Maureen had a lifelong love of the written word. She absolutely loved to read and was rarely without a good book. She was also a gifted writer and storyteller and was proud to have had a number of her short stories and essays published in The Milwaukee Journal. Reading and writing brought her great enjoyment throughout her life.

Maureen also found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing Monopoly, going on outings, enjoying dinners out and spending time with family and friends. Whether gathered around a game board, sharing a meal, or simply enjoying one another's company, she treasured those times together.

Maureen was the loving mother of Cindy (Don Cislo) Kunowski, Michael (Rose) Narlock, Mark (Tammy) Narlock and Andy (Angie) Narlock. She shared an especially meaningful bond with Rose, who was Maureen's longtime friend before becoming her daughter-in-law.

She was the proud grandmother of Jason, Jacob, Joshua, Michelle, Shannon, Daniel, Sam, Andrew and Jessica, and the beloved great-grandmother of Jason, Violet, Klaus, Kaius, Kassian, Kenzly, Gunnar, Brinnley, Wyatt, Marlow, Kirra, Ben, Mason, Carson and Lola.

Maureen is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews who were close to her and held a special place in her life and in the life of her family.

Maureen was the dear sister of Wayne Bartz and cherished her dear sister-in-law, Marcia Bartz, who recently passed away.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Esther Bartz; her loving sister, Dolores White; and Ronald Narlock, the father of her children, who passed away in 2001.

Maureen will be remembered for her bright spirit, her beautiful smile that could light up a room, her growing faith and her love of family and friends. Her love of reading, gift for writing and the many memories she created were special parts of a life well lived. Her love, laughter, and the memories shared with her will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
