Maureen Villarreal ( nee Sullivan) age 86, of Waukesha, WI found peace on August 7th , 2026.

Maureen was born on December 10th, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI to Raymond C. and Dorothy W. Sullivan (nee Adams). She was a proud graduate of Pius XI High School.

Maureen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose strength and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Monica (Carlo) and Denise (Darren), her cherished grandchildren Joshua (Virginia), Christopher (McKenna), Matthew, Cassandra (Dan) and Caitlin (Matthew) and her beloved great grandchildren Joshua Jr. “LJ”, Haven, Harlow and Hudson, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.

She is also survived by her older sister Kathleen Franke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Bloechl and Susan Santner, former husband Richard Villarreal and many relatives and friends.

To know Maureen, was to love her. She was a proud, stubborn and very strong Irish woman. She faced many trials, losses and heartache in her life but kept pushing through it. These last few years brought many health challenges that would take out the strongest of people half her age, but she would power through and keep fighting until she could fight no longer.

Her greatest joy was simply being surrounded by the people she loved, shrimp scampi and Chinese food!

Maureen was a long time member of Holy Cross Church and proudly served as a Eucharistic minister for many years.

She was a former member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA), a philanthropic organization focused on leadership development, community volunteering and raising money for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and Easter Seals.

She also had a love of live music and dancing. Spending weekends out on the town with her girlfriends in her younger days.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice team at Commonheart Home Health and Hospice, especially Ashley for her compassion, kindness, and the attentive care given during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
