Obituary
Merlin "Murphy" Smith, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 17th,2024.
He was son of Ronald Smith and Elsie Nieman. Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arthur Smith, Ronald (Betty) Smith,Harvey Smith, sister Geraldine (Lauren) Helmers, and brother-in-law Patrick Gerrits.
Survived by sister Shirley Gerrits, many nieces and nephews, and fishing buddies and friends.
He grew up in Milwaukee WI and went to Gesu Grade School and West Division High School. He honorably served four years in the Air Force before joining the Milwaukee Police Department. There he worked 25 years retiring in 1988.
Murphy spent his retirement fishing and hunting with family and friends.
Burial Services will be July 5th,2024 at 3pm at the Veteran's Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Dinner to follow.
