MICHAEL GEORGE TAYLORBorn 19 December 1951 in Beloit, WI. Died 13 December 2017 in Milwaukee. The world has lost a truly good person. Despite a rough start in life and many losses, Michael was a cheerful and generous person, always willing to help out. He liked physical work and keeping himself strong, family life, fishing, the military, Jimi Hendrix, and animals. He once saved a cat being tortured by some cruel boys.Raised by his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Gage, they lived in Eagleville in his teen years and he attended Mukwonago High School. Soon after he joined the U. S. Army and proudly served in the Signal Corps in Germany along the Czech border in the early 1970s. In 1976 he married the girl next door, 2LT Pamela Berger at Ft. Ben Harrison, IN, and proceeded to help raise her young son, Paul Heintz. They remained life-long friends, even after they later divorced, and they looked out for each other.Mike fit right in and remained an unofficial part of the Berger Family for the rest of his life. He worked for his late father-in-law's excavating business for a time, but eventually followed his grandmother and her cats to Oshkosh to take care of her after a stroke. He moved back to Milwaukee near Pam and Paul last year and was still unpacking when it was discovered that he had throat cancer and other health issues. Always the charmer, he made himself popular, even at the hospital. His treatment was going well, but after nearly six months he signed himself out and went home, where he died. The family wants to thank the doctors, nurses and others who helped care for Mike at the VA Hospital. He is greatly missed already.Michael is survived by ex-wife Pam Berger, step-son Paul Heintz, mother-in-law Isabelle Berger, brothers-in-law Jerry Jr, and Shawn, as well as some or all of his scattered Taylor siblings: Kathy, Gordon Jr. Terry, Jerry B. and Shelley, and perhaps his stepfather, Ed Chasko, as well and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Gage (nee Lucille Miller); his mother, Marilee Chasko, (nee Pickard); his long-time companion Marge Thierret of Oshkosh, and a more recent girlfriend, Sarah, of that area.
