Found peace on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the age of 85. Nancy, was born in Milwaukee, WI, the youngest of three children to the late Hugo and Katherine Ball. When Nancy was 5 years old, her family moved to the newly developed village of Greendale, WI. Nancy, like her father, fell in love with Greendale from the start, with its park-like setting, wonderful village center and sense of community. Nancy married Dick Lenten, also an original Greendale native, and together raised their 5 children in their historic Greendale home which was only blocks away from where each grew up. Nancy was a busy homemaker tending to her family and home, and volunteering in numerous church, school, and community activities. She always described herself as a "Jack of All Trades". After her children were grown, she obtained her degree in social work from MATC in 1984, graduating with honors. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Dick, son Brian, daughter-in-law Marge, and sisters Mardelle and Carol. Nancy is survived by children, Rick Lenten, David Lenten, Kathy Lenten, Lenore (Ron) Lenten-Greenwald, and daughter-in-law Laurie Lenten; loving grandmother to Maria (John) Cantarelli-Voermans, Rachel (Jeff) Hickey-Clapero, Nathan Hickey, Clay Robertson, Guy Letson, Trevor Lenten, Emily Lenten, Austin Lenten, and John Lenten; great grandchildren, Carly, Mallory, Penelope, Asher, and Brooklynd; brother-in-law Jack (Carol) Lenten. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Heritage Deer Creek Memory Care and the VITAS Hospice team for their kind and compassionate care of Nancy. Nancy treasured growing up and living her life in the Village of Greendale, cherished her family, neighbors and friends, was a true animal lover, took pride in her home and gardens, loved to visit Whitnall Park, and will be remembered for her strong faith, outgoing-friendly personality, and sense of humor.
