Nancy R. Vogel, age 81, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Greendale, Wisconsin. Born on October 30, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nancy lived a life defined by compassion, service and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Throughout her life, Nancy embraced roles that allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life. She worked as a receptionist at Harley-Davidson, where her warm demeanor and professionalism left a lasting impression. Later in life, she served as a crossing guard and a cashier at Speedway Gas Stations - positions through which she not only ensured safety and service but also spread kindness and generosity to everyone she encountered.
Nancy's acts of giving extended far beyond her professional duties. While working at Speedway and as a crossing guard, she became known for making homemade candy and chocolates for EMTs, firefighters, police officers - small gestures that carried immense meaning. Her hands were rarely idle; she crocheted blankets for the Humane Society and MADDAC several times each year and lovingly crafted hats and gloves for local missions every winter season.
Her hobbies - crocheting, candy making, sewing and helping animals and people in need - were not just pastimes but reflections of her deeply rooted values. Nancy's generosity was matched by her intelligence and patience. She was kind-hearted yet strong-willed; faithful to those she loved; loyal in friendship; dedicated in purpose; and devoted as both a mother and wife.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard; her parents Hazel and Herman; and her twin sister Patsy. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving son Kevin; daughter-in-law Kayla; cherished grandchildren Aubriana, Bryce, AJ and Devin; dear sister Lucille; goddaughter Stephanie; as well as many friends whose lives were touched by Nancy's enduring spirit.
Those who knew Nancy will remember her as a remarkable woman who made everyone feel seen, valued and loved - no matter their circumstances or past. She taught those around her to keep moving forward with grace, to embrace learning throughout life's journey and to treasure each fleeting moment on Earth.
May the memory of Nancy R. Vogel bring comfort and peace to all who were fortunate enough to know her - and may we carry forward the lessons of love and gratitude she so generously shared.
