Died peacefully on Tuesday February 16th 2016 at the age of 93.  Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Veronica (nee Orzechowski), dear wife Corinne, brothers Eugene, Joseph, John, Daniel, Gerald, and sister Dolores.  Tremendous father of Diane (William) Kalmer, Susan (William) Wanasek, James (Christine), and Joan (Anthony) Handzlik.  Fun-loving grandfather of nine, great-grandfather of four, step-grandfather of three and step-great-grandfather of three.  Further survived by sisters Rita and Carol and other relatives and friends.    Known as "Ironman", Norb was an 8-letter athlete at Pulaski High School.  He married his high school sweetheart in 1944 while serving in the U.S. Coastguard during WWII.  When the war ended, they settled in Hales Corners and began their family.  Norb worked as a salesman for Barg & Foster, Sperry, Ziegler and Brach candy companies.  He was extremely active in his parish and community, where he founded little league baseball.  After retiring from sales, Norb worked through his eighties wallpapering and painting.  He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and card player.  He was a great fan of Wisconsin sports: the Brewers, Packers, Marquette, and University of Wisconsin.  He also loved to dance.  Norb's devotion to his family was unparalleled; they will treasure all the time and love he selflessly gave to them.  While his smiling face will be missed, his loving and gregarious spirit will always be with us.    The family sincerely thanks the incredible staff at the Congregational Home, VA Medical Center, and Vitas for their compassionate care.    There will be a celebration of Norbert's life on Friday March 4th, 2016 at Saint Mary Catholic Faith Community 9520 W. Forest Home Ave. Hales Corners.  Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. followed by a memorial mass at 10:30 a.m.    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Norbert's name to the Milwaukee VA Hospital, ATTN:  Volunteer Services, 5000 W.
