Obituary

Jacoby, Norma E. (Nee Williams) entered Heaven on September 29th, 2016 after 91 amazing years. We will miss her dearly, but we're so thankful for the time we had with her. She was a wonderful, loving mother to Thomas, Paula (Tom), and Philip (Susan), a caring grandma to Christopher, Emily (Chad), Natalie, Ian, William, Grace, and Catherine, an adoring great-grandma to Benjamin, Vera, Gabriel, Elias, Isla, James, Lydia, and Ramona, a devoted sister to Julie and Carol, a warm friend, and a lifelong teacher. Norma taught for several decades in Greendale, the community she called home for many, many years. Teaching was more than a job for her. It was her calling to help shape young minds and to help them develop a lifelong passion for learning. Even after she retired, she never stopped teaching and even in her final hours she was still teaching us, showing us how to leave this life with peace and grace and without fear. It would be impossible to list all of her interests because she had so many. She loved sewing and reading and learning. She loved doing crossword puzzles and actively discussing current events. She danced and being a proud Norwegian she learned rosemaling. She traveled the world. She packed about as much life into her 91 years as possible. We take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her funny, smart, loving husband Paul, her son Thomas, her sister Julie, and her great-granddaughter Isla, who she is now rocking and singing "Golden Slumbers" to. She was truly the foundation of her family and we will miss her so much, but we also smile when we think of her dancing with our dad, and our grandpa, and our great-grandpa up in heaven. They are both young and happy and there is a twinkle in their eyes and a lively tune coming from the bandstand. She gave us all a lifetime of memories and as long as those memories live in the hearts and minds of those who cherished her, she will always be with us.Visitation will be at Saint Mary Catholic Faith Community at 9520 W. Forest Home Ave. Hales Corners on Saturday, October 8th from 9 AM – 10:15 AM. Service at 10:30 AM. Details available at: www.hartsonfuneralhome.com. Memorials are appreciated to Canterbury Elementary School (ca.greendale.k12.wi.us/) in Greendale where she taught for many years.
