Norma (Leahy) Shogren, born May 18, 1929, to Norman Shogren and Lilyan Leahy Shogren in Chicago, Illinois. She spent her youth in Chicago before moving to Milwaukee to pursue her education then her teaching career in Milwaukee Public Schools.

In 1972, Norma moved to the Hales Corners/ New Berlin area with her life partner, Darlene Bonniewicz, now deceased. She was one of the first Eucharistic Minister of St. Mary's Parish and devoted countless hours to ministering to home bound parishioners.

Norma was an integral part of her neighborhood as evidenced by the care and support provided through her struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Norma served her country as a Marine, her community as a teacher and her faith as a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites. She will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Visitation at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community Church, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, WI 53130 on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 10 am to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11 am. Inurnment to follow: Wisconsin Memorial Park
