Obituary

Otila Carbajal Trevino, age 84, of Caledonia, Wisconsin, was called home to the Lord on January 8, 2026. She was born on December 29, 1941, in Montel, Texas, and lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to family

Otila was a proud and talented seamstress, a career she loved and took great pride in. Outside of her work, she found joy in long country road drives and adventures, always appreciating the simple beauty of the journey. Her greatest passion, however, was spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.

A devoted Catholic, Otila was a true woman of God, living her faith through kindness, prayer, and love for others. She was known for her happy spirit, feisty strength, loving heart, and unwavering faith, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gilbert G. Trevino; her children, Senaida Trevino, Jacinto Trevino, and Adella De Leon; her dear sister, Albesa C. Hernandez; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Otila’s legacy lives on through the generations she cherished and the love she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her children, Gilberto Trevino Jr. and Louis Antonio Trevino; and her sisters, Emalia C. Guzman, Elodia C. Ortiz, Guadalupe Carbajal, and Graciela Carbajal.

Visitation will be held at Hartson Funeral Home, located at 11111 W. Janesville Rd., Hales Corners, WI 53130, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Adalbert Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that Otila now rests in eternal peace, reunited with the Lord she faithfully served.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
