Obituary

PATRICIA HAAS
December 4, 1935 – April 25, 2026

Patricia (Goggins, Jocz) Haas, a woman of remarkable drive, intellect, and warmth, passed away on
April 25, 2026, reaching the milestone age of 90. Born Patricia Goggins on December 4, 1935, to Eleanor
and David Goggins, she lived a life defined by her dedication to her family, her pursuit of education, and
a spirited love for the world around her.
From a young age, Pat displayed an inspiring work ethic. Many will remember her stories of riding the bus across town to work at local jewelry stores—early jobs she held dear. Those roles not only helped fund her education but left her with cherished memories, including the gold ring from Thielman’s that she wore faithfully every day until the very end. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Mount Mary College and later to Cardinal Stritch University, where she earned her Master’s Degree. Throughout her professional life, Pat thrived in various administrative roles, finding genuine fulfillment in her work and the connections she made.
Pat’s heart was always rooted in her family. She married Martin A. Jocz, and together they built a home on 89th Street in Milwaukee where they raised their three children with love and purpose. Later in life, she found companionship and joy with William P. Haas. Together, they navigated life through Brookfield, Beaver Dam, and Fox Lake, WI before eventually settling in Arkansas. Pat loved the natural beauty of Arkansas and remained there until five years ago when she returned to Wisconsin to be closer to the family who cared for her.
In her retirement, Pat embraced life’s simple pleasures whether she was on the golf course, playing a competitive game of Mahjongg, enjoying a round of Bingo, decorating her home, finding the perfect treasure while shopping, or having dinner parties and entertaining. She was a woman who truly knew how to ‘celebrate the gift of life’. Those who knew her felt fortunate to share in her journey.
