Paul Raymond Gray, 72, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, entered eternal life on March 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, after an arduous battle with brain cancer.
Paul was born on January 14, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William Gray and Phyllis Berg. After high school, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country as an Army Seaman. Approximately two years of his time in the United States Army was spent serving his country in Germany. Throughout his service in the United States Army, Paul earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge (M-16 Rifle) and the Good Conduct Medal.
After being honorably discharged from the United States Army, Paul married Janelle A. Gray (nee Scholbe) in 1974, and together, they raised three children in Muskego, Wisconsin.
Early in life, Paul learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his children. He was a man of strong faith and he taught his children the importance of family and hard work. Paul was a problem solver and was fiercely passionate about motorcycles and "…what made them tick…" at an early age.
For nearly 40 years, Paul worked as a mechanical engineer for Harley Davidson, Inc. Early in his career with Harley Davidson, while managing full-time work and family life, Paul went back to school, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from MSOE in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Paul was assigned to Harley Davidson's power train group where he was entrusted with the design of engine components for a wide range of motorcycles in the Harley Davidson production line.
Through the years, his career developed as he achieved his goal of being promoted to management with additional challenges and responsibilities. He had the unique opportunity to travel the world while representing Harley Davidson numerous times in Germany, Japan and Italy. He developed not only a purpose for his brilliance, but a life-long bond with his extended Harley Davidson family. He dedicated his life to his pursuit and passion of motorcycles and his family and friends.
Paul was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. He never missed a baseball game that his son, Joseph, played in as a young boy and young man. He couldn't. He was the head coach every year and he loved every second.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, William J. "Bill" Gray and David T. Gray.
Paul is survived by his devoted daughter, Rebecca Jeanette Gray, his only son, and hunting and fishing partner, Joseph "Joey" Paul Gray (Jen) and his daughter, Brenda Jean Clark (nee Gray) (Christopher). Paul is also survived by his five grandchildren whom he adored and loved unconditionally; Taylor Kathleen Gray, Evan Christopher Clark, Logan Paul Gray-Ives, Landon Frank Gray-Ives and Aiyana Jada Gray-Ives. Beloved uncle to Bonnie (Charles) Hittman (nee Gray), Stephanie Gray, Michael Gray (Iman) and Melinda Gray.
Paul is also survived by his former wife, Janelle Ann Gray (nee Scholbe), sister-in-law, Jeanie Gray (nee Lewandowski), niece, Michelle Woolf (William) (nee Schaumberg) of Warrenton, Missouri, nephew, Jeffrey Scholbe (Michelle) of Muskego, Wisconsin and is further survived by his entire Harley-Davidson family and numerous other family members and friends.
Paul was also a devoted pet owner, and his heart belonged to his dog, Mojo, his loyal and loving companion who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Mojo was a constant source of comfort and companionship, always there to greet him with a wagging tail and a happy bark.
From your children, Rebecca, Joseph and Brenda: Father, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much and know that your legacy of love and resilience will live on in our hearts. May you rest in eternal peace, until we see you again.
