Paul C. Ratz, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born on October 27, 1952, to Henry and Beverly (nee Harrison) Ratz.

Paul enjoyed spending time on vacations up North at the cabin in Waupaca, affectionately remembered as the “gingerbread house”. He had a deep love for music, especially Jimi Hendrix. He is the retired guitarist of the band Knight Train, in which he played with his friends Jake, Dan, and the late Jim and Frank. Paul loved babysitting adventures with his nieces and nephews, who are left with many one-liners from Uncle Paul. Both Paul and his family were very proud of his 36 years of sobriety, even through tough times in his life.

Paul worked for many years at Clement Manor Health Center in Greenfield, WI. All who remember him remember him fondly for his youthful and fun spirit.

Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Beverly, and many beloved aunts and uncles. Paul is survived by his twin sister Paula (John) Eineichner; their children Jacci (Tim Gray) Hanson; Izzy (Chris) Rice, and their children Carl and Joey; Dana (Shela) Eineichner and their children Erik and Aaron; Robin (Greg) Byler and their children Kendal, Jacey, Grant, and Gage (son Paula and John’s step-daughter, the late Suzzi) Hilgert; Christy (Junior) Patton and their children Brook (her children Eli, Samara, and Anthony), Olivia, and Victoria. Further survived by his sister Judy (the late Frank) Cottonaro; their children Pamela (Brian) Nadboralski and their children Parker, Ryley, and Henry; and Patricia (Art Rice) Cottonaro. Special uncle to Pierre and a great friend to Eileen. He will be further remembered by a large tree of cousins and friends.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Hartson Funeral Home (11111 W Janesville Rd, Hales Corners WI, 53130) on Sunday, January 25, 2026. All are welcome to visit from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Time to share memories will begin at 4:00 PM.
