Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peggy Joyce Grim, who entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on August 3, 1941 in Tyler, Texas, Peggy was the daughter of the late O.D. and Maureen (nee Reed) Hunt.

At just 18 years old, Peggy met the love of her life, Billy Grim, on a blind date. Four short weeks later, they were married — beginning a beautiful love story that lasted 47 years, until Bill’s passing on April 10, 2007.

Peggy worked at Accent’s Unlimited in the 70’s before realizing she couldn’t leave her crazy kids alone by themselves.
Peggy worked for Kohls Dept Store before retiring after 20 years. Anyone who visited the boy’s department knew it would always be impeccably neat and organized because that was really important to her.

Peggy was a woman of delightful traditions. Her loved ones knew better than to call her at 6:55 PM, as she and her longtime friend, Betty Crowell, spent that exact time every evening watching the end of Wheel of Fortune together over the phone while each drank a glass of wine. A cherished tradition that brought the two joy and laughter for many years.

Peggy was also blessed with the devoted companionship of Ger-Bear, whose company brought her so much happiness throughout the years. Together they enjoyed going out to eat, listening to live bands, holding hands and spending quiet afternoons watching soap operas together. Their friendship was filled with comfort, laughter and genuine affection and it became a treasured part of Peggy’s life.

Peggy found a friend within Judy, who’s husband, Roy, worked with Bill. Unfortunately, Roy and Bill passed within a year of each other, which strengthened the bond between Peggy & Judy, as they could relate to each other’s grief and lean on one another for support.

Peggy also treasured the entire Pagac family, who continued the tradition of the yearly family reunion that meant so much to her over the years. She lovingly embraced the Wiza family as her own after her only son married, believing wholeheartedly, that family was built through love as much as blood.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Grim; her parents, O.D. Hunt and Maureen Hunt (née Reed); and her sisters, Melba and Mary.

She is survived by her loving siblings: younger sister Shirley (Johnny) Saenz; and her brother Billy Hunt. She also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends throughout the Southern states. Peggy carried the warmth, strength, and grace of her Southern roots throughout her life.

Peggy is survived by her devoted children: Pam Laubusch, Terri (Greg) Liebe, Jeff (Michele) Grim, and Christina Grim. She was the loving grandma to Jamie, Brittany, Madison, and Dennis “Trey”; proud great-grandma to Kaycee and Ezekiel; and a very special "GG" to Nasir and Ja’Niyah, who held a special place in the hearts of both and whose lives were forever brightened by her love.

She is further survived by her step-grandchildren, Eric (Christy), Tony, and Michelle; step-great-grandchildren, Bailee, Mason, Claire, Alyssa, Charlie, and Rachel; and step-great-great-grandchildren, Shepherd and Oakley.

Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her quiet strength, her kindness, her sense of order, and the countless small traditions that became treasured memories. Her love created a foundation that will continue to guide her family for generations to come.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
