Of Hales Corners was born to eternal life March 23, 2016 at the age of 93.  Beloved husband for 68 years of Virginia (nee Smith).  Cherished dad of Jan (Dennis) Dwyer and Philis Harper.  Much loved grandpa of Dr. Chris Dwyer (Heather) and Jessica Dwyer.  Adored great grandpa of Maitlin and Coen Dwyer.  Dear brother of Joyce (Don) Laidlaw of Bluffton, SC and Robert (Alicia) Harper of St. Augustine, FL.  Preceded to heaven by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Harper and son Wyatt.  Also lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.    Born in Montverde, FL, Phil graduated from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree.  He worked for many years in transportation management at Allis Chalmers, Nordberg and Rexnord.  During his career, he worked in Milwaukee and Terre Haute, IN.  For many years, he served as an advocate for the developmentally disabled and was recognized for his success in keeping the Marquette University Dental School.  Phil taught transportation courses, served courageously during World War II and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army.Visitation will be held at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Greendale (7255 W. Grange Ave) on Saturday, April 9, 2016, visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at noon.  A reception immediately will follow the Mass.    In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phil's memory may be given to St. Thomas of Canterbury Church of Greendale, WI.
