Age 65. Went home to be with Jesus on December 9th surrounded by his loving family, after a battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Lisa (nee Fredricks) for 35 years. Cherished father of Abigail Nickel. Further survived by his siblings Mary, Gerry, David, Paul and Jim; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Joan Nickel. Proud veteran of the US Army. Phil loved gardening, fishing and the outdoors. He was an industrial painter for many years then later a school bus driver, which he found incredibly rewarding. He loved the children on his route; they brought him much joy. Phil was also a true student of the Bible. He was a hard-working man, dedicated to his family and the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at Portview Church, 3457 County Road LL, Port Washington, WI 53074 on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1 PM with Military Honors to follow at 2 PM.
