Phyllis Wolford (nee Jarek), age 76, passed away on July 15th, 2024. She was born on September 21, 1949, in Oconto Falls and went to school in Gillett. She graduated in 1967, then went to Stevens Point. Phyllis taught at Muskego High School while getting her Master’s Degree. She enjoyed teaching and stayed at Muskego for 35 years.

On August 21, 1971, Phyllis married the love of her life, Ken, at Sacred Heart Parish in Shawano.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ken, of 54 years, their loving daughter Natalie (Niell) Nettesheim, grandchildren Remington and Lily, her sister Carol (Robert) Heckenlaible, sister-in-law Doris (Gary) Hischke, and brother-in-law Allen Paholke. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Evelyn Jarek, Ken’s parents Fred and Evelyn Wolford, and sister-in-law Esther “Lois” Paholke.

Phyllis loved the outdoors. She loved to spend time with family and friends at their lake house on the pontoon, fishing, swimming, and sharing meals. Phyllis was a fierce game player. Her “no-mercy” way of playing any game had anyone that played with her laughing and looking for the rule booklet! She taught her grandson, Remington, how to play Sheepshead, which made her proud. She loved having him come over and play.

Last but not least, she loved to travel. Phyllis made trips around the US and the world, making it to six of the seven continents.

She will be deeply missed by all of us, and we hope she knows how much we love her. May God bless her soul always.
