Was welcomed into Heaven on September 10th at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 63 years to Carol (nee Schilz). Cherished father of Randy (Judy), Mark (Aixuan), Ann, Steve (Mary), John (Denise), Ellen (Steve) Buchberger, and Tom (Desiree). Loving grandfather of Katie, Laura, Ryan, Ashlie, Betsy, Amy (Jim), Jake, Nate, Alex, Ryan, Isaac, Abby, Martha, Mary, Sam, Luke, Melanie, Anna, Leah, Erik, Bella, and Ava. Great-grandfather of three. Treasured brother of Vern (the late Roland) Funk and Lloyd (Rose). Preceded in death by his sisters Lorraine (Leo) Michel, Lois (Joe) Mainus, June (Joe) Michel, and brother Earl (Lucy). Founding member and Battalion Chief of the Franklin Fire Department and owner of Holterman Woodwork. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers and actively served his community as a little league coach, 4-H leader, and church usher. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15th at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Rd. Hales Corners 53130 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 6:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16th at St. Martin of Tours Church, 7963 S. 116th St, Franklin 53132 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m.
