Obituary

Died peacefully on Saturday, October 6th, 2018, at the age of 91, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Sidne (Mulder), the love of his life and best friend for more than 67 years. Loving father of Gretchen and David (Barbara), and beloved grandfather of J.J. and Traci Weis. Also survived by brother-in-law Thomas Eicher, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many dear friends. Predeceased by parents George F. and Helen G. (Ledman) Weis, and sister Pauline (Weis) Eicher.Ray was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 13, 1927. He graduated from North College Hill High School and immediately entered the U.S. Navy, making him a World War II era veteran. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1950 with a degree in Business Administration.Ray worked as a sales and marketing executive for a variety of companies over his career. He was transferred to Milwaukee in 1963, and he and Sidne made their home in the greater Milwaukee area ever since. He was the owner of Executive Placement Service, Mayfair Temporary Service and Contract Engineering. Ray and Sid were avid sailors and members of the Milwaukee Yacht Club for years. He was a member of Rotary and volunteered for SCORE, helping to coach entrepreneur business owners. He loved reading, and enjoyed history, current events, photography, painting water colors, travel, theater, sports, fly fishing, and movies, as well as golf, which he took up in retirement.Ray will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and his love of family and friends. His family will always remember his beer pancakes, fresh homemade bread and "garbage can" suppers on the grill.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20th, at 3:00 p.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1100 North Astor Street. The family will greet visitors both before and after the service.
