Obituary

Raymond "Doctor Kirby" Wuerl will be missed. On Sunday, August 17, 2025, Raymond departed his earthly body and rejoined his wife.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father in 1993 (Joesph A. J. Wuerl), his son-in-law in 2017 (Pablo Sepulveda Jr), his wife in 2021 (Claudia Wuerl), and his mother at the beginning of 2025 (Florence J Wuerl). Raymond is survived by many family members. Raymond leaves behind his three children (Gina Wuerl, Sarina Sepulveda, and Eric Wuerl), his eight grandchildren (John Sepulveda, Jacob Sepulveda, Raymond Sepulveda, James Adrian, Cole Romero, Gabriella Romero, Jayden Acevedo, and Ashton Romero), and two great grandchildren (Anais "Annie" Sepulveda aka "the great one", and Coyote Sepulveda), as well as all siblings (Deb Wuerl, Christopher and Sherry Wuerl, Jim and Debbie Wuerl, Kathy Wuerl, Barb Wuerl, and Donald Wuerl), and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Raymond was of the hardest working man I've ever known. Raymond owned and operated the Kirby Vacuum store in West Allis and was also a newspaper carrier for many different newspapers over the years, most recently the Milwaukee Journal.

Raymond has worked for Kirby since 1979 for many different distributors before becoming one himself. He did sales and repairs. He was known by many customers as Doctor Kirby. He was so good at repairs that when he was sent to the factory in Cleveland to learn how to repair the Kirby, he ended up teaching the class.

Raymond was also known as a human map, not even Google Maps or GPS was better. Maybe because he was older than Google, he was older than computers. He could usually get you within a few blocks, even if he was never there. He was so good he could even tell you the color of the car in the driveway.

Raymond will be missed by many. He liked to hang out and relax at Mortimer's or Dopp's. He made many friends at both places over the years. It was kind of like Cheers.

The celebration of life for Raymond will happen at a later date. It will be Hawaii themed because his family would like to think he is celebrating with Claudia, his wife, as this year would have been their 50th anniversary.
