Richard Allen Baehring, aged 67 years, peacefully passed away at his home on November 28, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and adventure.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sally (Lockwood), their children Nicholas, Thomas, and Katherine (Brendan Wilson), their grandchildren Kali, Zoran, Everly, and Elizabeth, plus one on the way. Rick is further survived by his brothers William, Jeff (Eva), and Greg, his brothers-in-law Larry (Darcy), Tim (Sandy), Bill (Jill), Rick (Nancy), sisters-in-law Lois, Sue (Phil Reesman), and many nieces and nephews.
A proud United States Marine, Rick served his country with honor and was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 18. For 32 years, he contributed his hard work and dedication to the City of Greenfield Department of Public Works. Beyond his professional life, Rick shared his passion for outdoor activities and taught young people the importance of hunters' safety.
In his earlier years, Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman. His lifelong love for gardening showed his connection to nature. His adventurous spirit led the family on countless road trips, exploring the beauty of the country. Upon retirement, Rick and Sally embarked on new adventures, enjoying camping trips and international travels. Their journeys took them to Ireland, Ecuador to see the Galapagos, and even Thailand for a joyous occasion – the wedding of their foreign exchange daughter, Medina.
Rick's memory will be forever cherished by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Katherine, his in-laws, Francis and Marjorie Lockwood, his brother-in-law Steve Lockwood, and his grandson Conor Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hope Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lomira, Wisconsin.
A memorial service to celebrate Rick's life will be held on Saturday December 16 from 2-4pm at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Rd., Hales Corners, WI 53130
