Richard Matthew Kelto, age 93, of Franklin, Wisconsin, passed away on February 24, 2025.

He was born on November 28, 1931, and raised in Bessemer, MI., the son of Emil and Lylii (Sippola) Kelto.
Richard was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church which was located next door to their home. He attended grade school and high school in Bessimer, graduating with the class of 1949. He also attended Gogebic College.

He moved to Milwaukee and became employed at Evinrude Motors until his retirement. During this time, his future bride, Clarice, also became employed at Evinrude during a summer while she was attending college. They were married June 20, 1959.

Dick enjoyed spending summer vacations at the Kelto cottage on Lake Gogebic in Michigan's UP. Although quite young at the time, Dick helped in small ways as his dad built the cottage that has become a place enjoyed by the family to this day.

Dick sang in church choirs and was a member of the Milwaukee Male Chorus. His hobby of many years, involved building a model ship, a Fletcher Class Destroyer. He ordered the blueprints from the Navy. However, when they arrived, they were plans for building an office swivel chair. Upon receiving the correct plans, the project has been ongoing for many years and is very near completion.

Dick is survived by his wife, Clarice; his two children: daughter Lisa Kelto of Greendale, WI., son John (Debby), Butternut, WI. Grandchildren, Danika Kelto (Greendale, WI), Nina Kelto (Eau Claire, WI) and Nelson Krecik (Glidden, WI).

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vivian, and brothers, Reuben and Rudy.

Memorial Services at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 9501 W. Drexel Avenue, Franklin, Wisconsin.

Visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with service to follow at 1:00
