Robert M. Benish "Bob", 67, died Saturday, January 29th, 2022. He was born February 26th, 1954, in Milwaukee, WI.

Robert, known to his family and friends as Bob, Orb, Robby or Rob was a self-taught, skilled carpenter. Preferring to work alone, much of his craftsmanship was done and can still be seen all over Milwaukee's Riverwest and east side neighborhoods. His hands were a product of his work. Bob lived much of his life on Milwaukee's east side, where he felt most at home yet was still very connected to his Latvian heritage. Bob had a love for all Wisconsin sports teams, dreamt of traveling west and was known for his sense of humor up to the very end.

Bob is survived by his mother, Dzidra Benish; daughters Julianna (Kevin) Mielcarek and Eva (Jeff) Schuelke; brothers Rick and Charles Benish; sister Tamara Tupesis; grandsons, Keaton, and Jonas Mielcarek; uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and many lifelong friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Benish.

Thank you to the care he received at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Mt. Sinai, the Home Care Hospice team and Aurora Zilber hospice.

There will be a celebration of life at the Uptowner, one of his favorite hang-outs, located at 1032 E. Center St. Milwaukee, WI, on February 26th, 2022 at 2pm. We encourage family and friends to wear any Wisconsin sports team apparel.
