Obituary for Robert "Bob" LangnesRobert "Bob" Langnes, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in Menomonee Falls, WI. He was born to Herbert and Lucille (nee Snyder) Langnes on May 19, 1933, in Wauwatosa, WI. Bob was raised in Milwaukee, WI. He married Nina Privett on May 25, 1957. She was 18 and Bob was 23. They had two children, Robert Kevin Langnes and Tami Lyn Garrett (nee. Langnes).Bob worked at Georgia Pacific Paper Company until he retired. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Private. Bob and Nina were very active in their church as youth directors and Sunday school teachers. They especially enjoyed their work as commanders in the Christian youth organization know as AWANA. They influenced countless lives through their many years of ministry together. Bob moved to Virginia with his wife, Nina, and his daughter, Tami, in 1994. Bob and Nina continued their ministry in Virginia as Sunday school teachers. They were very active in the Wise Senior Center where they organized many activities and took several trips with their senior friends. Nina passed away in Virginia in 2003. Bob moved briefly to Indiana and then settled in Cedarburg, WI. He has since enjoyed the companionship of Diana Langnes who was his beloved friend up until his time of passing.Bob is survived by his son Robert Kevin (Jayne) Langnes; his daughter Tami Lyn (Julius) Garrett; granddaughter Julielyn Valentine Garrett; and his beloved friend Diana Langnes; sisters, Judy, Sandy, and Phylis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his wife, Nina Langnes; parents, Herbert and Lucille; four brothers, Harold, Herbert, William and James; and sisters, Virginia, Shirley, Lucy, Myra and Karen.A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Hartson Funeral Home (11111 W. Janesville Rd., Hales Corners, WI) with Pastor Frank Marsh presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 9:30am until the time of service. Interment following at Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church (4895 S. Calhoun Rd., New Berlin, WI 53151) or the American Heart Association.
