Robert Eugene Maynard, 89 formerly of Hales Corners Wi. passed away peacefully on Friday October 22nd, 2021, at his Son's home in Coloma Wi. with family by his side. He was Born January 10th, 1932, the son of Albert Maynard and Adeline (Schommer) Maynard. He attended a Catholic grade school in Milwaukee and was also an Alter Boy at Gesu Catholic Church where he loved to ring the church bells and ride the ropes. He attended West Division High School until he joined the US Air Force where he graduated with his GED and committed 42 years of service to our Country. His heroism and merit in the service is a true example of his life. Robert married Donna Jean Rimple on May 28, 1959, it was love at first sight and in his words AhOOgah. He continued his Military career at the 440th Air Force base until his retirement in 1987. Robert loved spending time with his family particularly at his cottage on Silver Lake in Laona Wi. where he could fish and hunt and teach his grandchildren valuable life lessons using many unique games to make things fun. He loved to play cribbage and do puzzles with his wife and family by his side. Robert was truly a hero to all he knew, and his legacy is sure to live on in them. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children Daniel Maynard (Annie Krupnow), Lori Murphy (Jeffrey Flitter), Kim (Fred) Wehrhahn, Grandchildren Kristen (Joe) Ambuske, Brook Maynard, Joshua (Mandi)Murphy, Sean Murphy (Sara Schlieis) Josey (Mitchell)Kresovic, Katie (Ethan) Jones, Natalie (Martin)Smith, Heather Wehrhahn, and Elizabeth Wehrhahn, Great Grandchildren, Truman, and Cameron Jones. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his wife Donna on November 19, 2019, in laws Josephine and Frank Rimple, Siblings Lucille Maynard, William Maynard (Beverly Maynard), John Maynard (Gladys Maynard), Patricia (Maynard)Lipski (Don Lipski) Roger Maynard. Robert was truly a hero to all he knew, and his legacy is sure to live on in them.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in memory of Bob to the Alzheimer's Association. The family extends a special thank you to the VA medical team and Hospice care.
