Obituary

Robert E. "Sarge" WolframBorn July 21, 1930 in Clyman, Wisconsin to Edward J. Wolfram Sr. and Meta (nee Kuhlman) Wolfram. He married Helen Blodgett on March 16, 1957 in Juneau, Wisconsin. They raised five sons together. He married his second wife Sandra (nee Barth) Wolfram on December 7, 1989 in Janesville, Wisconsin. He joined the USAF in 1951. His military service included overseas tours in Korea and Turkey along with numerous stateside assignments in Montana, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas, Missouri and Wisconsin. One of the most memorable events, in addition to the birth of his five sons, was being assigned as a reserve unit advisor to a nuclear recovery squadron in Green Bay, Wisconsin. For his exemplary service and devotion to duty, he was awarded the Command Certificate of Recognition, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and two tickets to the Green Bay Packers home games during Coach Lombardi's glory years from 1961 to 1967. He retired from the USAF as a Senior Master Sergeant on September 1, 1972 with 22 years of service. Robert's second career was with the Freeman Shoe Company in Beloit, Wisconsin. He worked his way up from computer programmer to manager of the computer department. During this period from April 1973 to December 1991, he earned Associate Degrees in accounting and sales marketing by attending evening classes at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin. Robert's last job assignment was manager of Lathers Sand & Gravel, Inc. from April 1993 to June 2008 in Beloit, Wisconsin. After his retirement he enjoyed reading, outdoor activities, casino bus trips, and all sports on television. He was a weekly visitor to the local Beloit Library utilizing the internet service for research and surfing. Survivors are son Bruce Wolfram of Beloit, Wisconsin, son Robert (Trina) Wolfram of Janesville, Wisconsin, daughter-in-law Mary Sue Wolfram and granddaughter Katy Wolfram from Sedalia, Missouri, father-in-law Chet Forsythe of Sharon, Wisconsin, sister-in-law Lorraine Wolfram of Juneau, Wisconsin and sister-in-law Janis Wolfram of Juneau, Larry (Sue) Goodman of Portage, Wisconsin (Larry received son Richard's heart in February 1999), and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in by wives Helen in July 1998 and Sandee in October 2000, son Richard in February 1999, niece Gayle Buhr in March 2008, brother Lawrence in June 2009, son Jeffrey in October 2017, brother Edward in October 2017, son Bryan in December 2017 (Bryan also retired from the USAF in November 1996), and mother-in-law Dorothy Forsythe of Sharon, Wisconsin.
