Loving dad to Jim (Debbie), Jeannie (John), Julie (Travis), Eric and Michael. Cherished grandpa to Justin (Genna), Jessica, Jason, John, Amber (Ted), Danny (Tenee), Brittany (Brian), Devin, Jordon, Natasha, Kiry and Harrison. Grumpa to seventeen beautiful great-grandchildren. Sister Anita "Nitz", brother-in-laws, Art (Martha), Steve (Laura), special sister Dianne (Stan "the man"), best friend and ignitor of Rod and Sharron's lifelong love affair…Michael Pearson - son-in-law, Con – daughter-in-law, Debbie and countless other loving family and friends.
Preceded in death by beloved wife Sharron, parents – Oscar and Delores Rasmussen. Sisters – Sharon Pede, Cindy Anderson, Linda Logue - Sister-in-laws – Susan (Steve) Wronski, Martha See, Judy Hite and daughter-in-law, Melinda Rasmussen.
His fondest memories of growing up were with family in Virginia, Minnesota, fishing and playing on the family farm.
A cherished Veteran, he served our country in the Vietnam War…upon return, dedicated his life to hard work and family.
After raising kids, he and Sharron began adventuring – spontaneous road trips, Lamers bus trips and gambling trips with Aunt Dianne and Uncle Stan. Living life to the fullest! Rod referred to it as a "great ride"!
Rod's passion for history, sports and politics inspired countless conversations. The depth of his knowledge was astonishing. Sharron jokingly referred to it as "useless knowledge" but so many enjoyed learning from him.
His dedication to the Green Bay Packers lives on… certain he's given this season's "picks" in heaven. Rod and Sharron were snowbirds and enjoyed their Florida family during Wisconsin winters. Their story continued… new friends, new adventures, new memories.
