Obituary

Of Hales Corners, WisconsinRoman was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Violet (nee Selerski)Moczydlowski on October 2, 1926. Roman was one of five siblings, Chester, Theodore, Helen,and a young sister of tender years, all of whom predeceased him. It was a close-knit family in theMilwaukee southside Polish community. Polish traditions, meals, and language were animportant part of Roman's early life.On September 2, 1950, Roman married the love of his life, Jane Krolicki. Roman and Jane werehappily married until Jane's decease on January 7, 2005. Roman and Jane (referred toaffectionately by him as "Jennie") have three children. Roman is survived by his children:Richard (Lorene) Mozinski; Janice ("Jan") Moczydlowski; and Mary (Sam) Salahi. In addition,Roman is survived by his grandchildren: Eileen (Michael) Schmidt; Susan (Zach) Dvorak;Theresa Mozinski; Nicholas Salahi; and Nathan Salahi. Roman is also blessed and survived byfour great grandchildren: Emma and Daniel Dvorak and Samantha and Laura Schmidt. Romanthoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family at every opportunity.In May, 1951, Uncle Sam came calling for Roman when he was inducted in the United StatesArmy. Roman served for two years in the Signal Corp. Roman was deployed stateside workingprimarily in high electric power transmission systems.Shortly after discharge from the Army in May, 1953, with the rank of Sergeant-First Class,Roman took advantage of the GI Bill and relocated with his wife and young son to Pasadena,California, for specialized training in electrical systems delivery. That one year of training,together with studies at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, served Roman well in his futurecareer as a Master Electrician.Roman worked for almost 50 years as a highly valued electrician at the Allis Chalmers, WestAllis facility. Roman always spoke of his career at Allis Chalmers with great enthusiasm.Roman was a dedicated spouse and father. He and Jennie enjoyed travelling and taking roadtrips. He did household and yardwork tasks listening to the radio, often tuned in to a baseballgame.Roman was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hales Corner, Wisconsin. Hewas also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the AmericanLegion.A funeral visitation will be held between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018, followedby a prayer service at 11:00 a.m., at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 West Janesville Road, HalesCorners, Wisconsin.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
