Obituary

Ronald Synowicz was born to eternal life on July 14, 2021, at age 86. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis and a loving father to Linda Jozwiak and the late Wesley (Cheryl) Synowicz. Ron was a strong man with a heart of gold. He lived his life in service to others.

Ron grew up in Waukesha, where he and his brother, Dwight, helped their parents in truck farming. Later, Ron attended Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee. In 1956, he began working as an assistant to a plumber, and he also married his sweetheart, Phyllis. They were married for sixty-five years. Ron and Phyllis moved to Florida that same year. Soon, Ron began working in plumbing, heating, and fire suppression at Cape Canaveral.

After being drafted by the U.S. army, Ron went to Germany for eighteen months. He was in the 826th Tank Battalion and worked as a scout. In that role, he gained a reputation for a quick eye. Ron later served in the reserves. He was very proud of his service to our country and enjoyed telling stories about his army days.

After returning to the United States, Ron got a job doing fire suppression work with the Grunau Company. He worked there for thirty-five years.

Ron sang in the choir at Saint John's Lutheran Church on Howell Avenue in Oak Creek. He enjoyed listening to every type of music from opera to country. Ron had several other hobbies, including gardening, woodworking, and travel. He even started his own business, Ron Craft, which specialized in wooden toys, ducks, picture frames, and shelves. Ron liked working around the house and was never too busy to teach woodworking and home repairs to other people. Ron and Phyllis visited nearly all of the fifty states. Ron enjoyed visiting museums wherever they went and was especially fond of Native American history and culture.

An animal lover, Ron kept dogs, cats, and horses. He enjoyed horseback riding and served as a ringmaster at horse shows to the delight of crowds of people.

Ron also loved children. He was proud of his son and daughter and was the cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Ron), Matthew (Catie), Stephanie, Samantha, and James (Madeline). Ron helped raise Stephanie and Samantha, and the family referred to him as a "Mister Mom." Ron also had three great-grandchildren, Ella, Scarlett, and Luna.

Ron is further survived by other relatives and friends. Everyone who knew him will miss his kindness, compassion, and sense of humor.

"Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength." –Saint Francis de Sales
