Rosalia Galati (1924 – 2015) Galati, Rosalia (nee Maglio) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away peacefully into Eternal Life on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the age of 91, surrounded by family. She was born in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicily, on April 18, 1924 to the late Gaetano and Graziella Maglio. Beloved wife of the late Santo Galati (d. August 1, 1972), mother of her adoring children Lucia (Peter) Frittitta, Graziella Galati and Santo (Irene) Galati, and loving Nonna to Nicolemarie Frittitta and Santino Galati. Loving sister of Sebastiano (Concetta) Maglio, Antonino (Domenica) Maglio, Santo (Maria Boscia) Maglio and the late Giuseppe (Maria) Maglio. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States, Sicily and Argentina. Rosalia married Santo in 1953 and he left Sicily to find work in America. Rosalia followed two years later when Santo had earned enough money to bring her to America. Rosalia left Sicily knowing she would never see her parents again. Rosalia and Santo made a beautiful life in America and had three children: Lucia, Graziella and Santo. Her husband died when she was 48 years old and she was left to raise three children on the wages of a seamstress. Rosalia was a devout Christian as was evident by the candles that burned daily for different Saints. Rosalia loved to bake Italian cookies for different social events. Her only request was that the empty cookie trays be returned. Rosalia leaves a legacy of family and friends whom she loved and who loved her.
