Obituary

Rose Ellen Steinmann
Rose Ellen Steinmann (nee Passante), age 93 was born to Eternal Life on March 15, 2026. She remains the loving wife of the late Frederick for 57 years.
She is the beloved mother of Sharon (Jeffrey) Weissenburger, Rosemarie (Paul) Barrette, Jeffrey and Gregory (Christine). God blessed her with ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is survived by Antonino Corrao, Phyllis Steinmann Carr and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents Domenico and Ciriaca Passante and Palmerina (Jerome) Milbeck, Elmer (June) Passante, Roland (Jean) Passante, Marietta (John) D’Alessio, Yolanda Corrao, Roland (Lucille) Steinmann, Edith (Kenneth) Mueller, David (Bernice) Steinmann, Gloria Steinmann and Dennis Steinmann.
Family and friends were most important to Rose Ellen. She was most devoted and proud of her loving marriage to Fred with their four beloved children. She deeply cared for Fred during his long battle with Parkinson's and made sure he received the best, most advanced care possible. As her own parents aged, Rose Ellen took them into her home and cared for them, as needed by the family–just another demonstration of the passion she had for her family.
As a devout Catholic, she attended Sunday Mass, visited with local priests, and added everyone to her daily prayer list who needed a little extra love from God. Her Catholic faith served as the best example for her family to model.
With her creative spirit, she was best known for her jokes and sense of humor. She directed several memorable, satirical shows at Clement Manor in which residents enjoyed her creative wit. She loved to decorate cakes, paint and draw, and she was humbled when her art was chosen to be displayed at a Clement Manor art show. She also loved music, especially the piano and her Catholic hymns. She often would play her keyboard.
Finally, one never left her home hungry. Endless, delicious, homemade Italian meals filled anyone who stepped in her loving home. These recipes have been so tenderly and lovingly handed down to the next generations proving her devotion to family who have enjoyed and deeply loved her incredible spirit.
