Ruth Elizabeth Atherton (nee Kurth) Age 87. With Jesus August 12, 2017. Loving high school sweetheart of William "Bill" Atherton for 66 years. Beloved mother of Deborah Wisch, Annette (Dave) Foster, Allison (Charlie) Vail, and John (Rita) Atherton. Proud grandma of Stephen (Brittney) Vail, Anthony Vail, Andrew Vail, Joshua (Liesl) Foster, Justin (Sara) Foster, and Hope Foster (Riston Furseth). Great grandma of Eva, Nolan, Analiese, Griffin, Rayni, Chad, Ethan, Saije, and Riley. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her brothers, Andy, Rick, Hank, Wally, Jake and sisters, Annie, Marion, and Rosalie. Ruth enjoyed being involved in the Greendale Women's Club and Village Quilters. She loved flowers, antiques and decorating her home. She especially loved going to church and being involved in Bible studies and women's events. Most of all Ruth loved her family very much. She was the keeper of the home, a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Ruth will be greatly missed!Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday evening, August 17th, 2017 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning, August 18th at 10 AM. (continued visitation from 9:30-10 AM). Interment to follow: Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery
