Obituary

Sallyann Schlittenhart, age 85, went with the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2025 while peacefully in her sleep at Angel's Grace Hospice.

Although she suffered for months with pancreatic cancer, she was always comforted knowing that her suffering would end and she would soon be with the Lord. Sallyann was a firm believer in Romans 8:31: If God is for us, who can be against us?.

Sallyann is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wayne. She is further survived by her ex-husband and dear friend Jon Kruger (Judy): sons Jon Kruger and Jay Kruger; stepson Gary (Andrea) Schlittenhart, step-daughters Sharon (Ken) Gifford and Christine Barbee. She is the proud grandmother to seven and great-grandma to ten.

Sallyann, (Sally, Sal, Grandma, Great-Grandma) was noted for her custom of greeting everyone with a hug and telling them "Jesus loves you" which earned her the title of "The Hugging Lady". She hugged police officers, clergy, nurses, doctors, clerks, women, men, children and the elderly. She greeted everyone with a hug.

Sallyann loved the church and volunteering. She and Wayne were members of Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin, for twenty five years where they served in the mail room, print shop, the coffee team, Feed My Sheep and many of the social functions of the church. While living in Elgin, Illinois, they volunteered at the Soup Kitchen and Homeless Shelter and delivered Meals on Wheels. A tradition they carried forward when they moved to East Troy, Wisconsin.

To honor Sallyann's wishes, no services will be held but a celebration of life event will be scheduled in the future.

Please honor Sallyann in your own special way.
