Obituary

Scott K. Enk, age 59, of Hales Corners, Wisconsin, passed away in the early morning hours of December 30, 2017 of a heart attack, with his life partner of over 30 years, Karen Singh, at his side. With his passing, the world has lost an extraordinary wordsmith, an voracious reader; a great feminist; a proud Progressive; a tenacious animal and children's rights advocate; a passionate lover of social media and the Internet; a true computer geek; a brilliant mind regarding silent films, theater, the symphony, photography, history, chess, model railroading and so many other worldly things. He achieved many great accomplishments, and among them are his being a MENSA member, a Phi Beta Kappa member, past president of the Milwaukee Chapter of the National Organization of Women, an educator of silent films at Alverno College; and he served many other academic, social, political and cultural groups in a variety of ways. Scott was a consummate over-achiever, and he was quite passionate about ALL of it! Scott was a unique, diverse, sincere, sometimes complicated and often misunderstood man. He was one of a kind. Scott is survived by his life partner of over three decades, Karen Singh, his father and step-mother, Ken and Jeraline Enk, his sister Christine Clemins (Michael), his half-sisters, Erika Enk (Kevin Rak), Rebecca Arpin (David) and Allison Enk (Nolan Crewz), his nieces, Andrea Hintz (Josh) and Evalina Crewz, his nephews, Sam and Isaac Arpin, and of course, his beloved canine sidekick, Coco IV, as well as many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Enk (nee Szymanowski), his half-brother Alexander ("AJ") Enk, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and dear friends, Janet and Charlotte. A memorial service celebrating Scott's life will be held at Hartson Funeral home, 11111 West Janesville Road, Hales Corners, on Thursday January 4, 2018, between 5 and 8 p.m. We invite those who wish to share memories about Scott to speak between 7 and 8 p.m. Please join us in honoring the life of this fine man. Scott, you will be missed by so many more than words can ever say. Until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.
