Sidne Jane (nee Mulder) Weis died peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the age of 93.

Beloved wife of Raymond George Weis, the love of her life and best friend for more than 67 years. Loving mother of Gretchen and David (Barbara), loving grandmother of J.J. and Traci (Louis) and loving great-grandmother of Riley and Emma. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, a nephew, great nieces and great nephews, and many dear friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Gertrude (Van Zoeren) and Russell Harold Mulder, her sister Doraldyne (Mulder) DeBoer Sachs Gerritsen, her sister-in-law Pauline (Weis) Eicher, brothers-in-law Tom Eicher, Richard DeBoer, Ronald (Mike) Sachs, George Gerritsen and her beloved husband Raymond.

Sidne was born on February 18, 1933, in Des Moines, IA. She grew up in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area, and graduated from Mt. Healthy High School. Sid and Ray were married in 1951. Daughter Gretchen Elaine Weis joined them later that year, and David Mark Weis joined the family in 1953.

Sid and Ray followed his career to the greater Milwaukee area in 1963, where they made their home ever since. Sid was a proud homemaker, active in various community organizations, including the Hales Corners Women’s Club. During her time serving with the Hales Corners Women’s Club, Sid saw the need for a public library branch in Hales Corners and founded and chaired a special committee of the Women’s Club to turn her vision into a reality. She was extremely proud of the role she played as a founding member of the Hales Corners Library. Sid also served as President of the Hales Corners Library Board.

Sid worked alongside Ray in the 1970s when they purchased Executive Placement Service. She ran the Mayfair Temporary Service division. She was a charter member of Professional Dimensions, a professional women’s group. Sid took evening classes and earned a degree in business management from Cardinal Stritch College in 1985. Following earning her college degree, Sid served as the Director of Human Resources at the St. John’s on the Lake retirement community for 10 years.

Sid and Ray were avid sailors and members of the Milwaukee Yacht Club for years. They were also long-time members of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in downtown Milwaukee. Sid was an avid reader, and a crossword puzzle aficionado. She took her bridge playing very seriously and made so many wonderful friends over the years playing with so many different groups. Sid and Ray also loved dinner out, going to the movies, theater, and especially musical theater. In retirement, they traveled throughout the United States, seeing nearly all the U.S. National Parks and Presidential Libraries. They also took several trips throughout Europe.

Sid will be remembered for her intelligence, her warmth and sense of humor, and most importantly, her love of family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Tuder Oaks Senior Living Community, S77 W12929 McShane Drive in Muskego. A reception will be held afterwards. A memorial tree will be planted in her name at the Hales Corners Library. Both Sid and Ray will be interred together at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati at a later date.
