Thomas "Tom" A. Becker, New Berlin, WI, age 79, was reunited with God and family on January 26th.
He was the beloved husband of Pat for 55 years, and proud father of Chris (Erica "Peaches") and Michelle "Mickey" (Sean).
Tom was also the adoring, silly Bumpa of Alix (Kyle), Nick, Ian (Chloe) and Evan. Tom was blessed to be able to enjoy three great-grandchildren: Riley, Charli and Laney.
He will be missed by his brother Dick and in-laws Judy (Chip), Gail (Kenny) and Cece "Cia" (Ken). He will also be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews: Denise, Danny, Deanna, Sherri, Kevin, Kaelyn, Chani, Richard and Stayce.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Arthur "Red" and Mary, his twin brother Jim, and cherished in-laws Cecilia and Willie J.
Tom was born in Milwaukee as "twin #1" in 1944. He attended Boys Tech High School, graduating in 1963. Tom was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965 for the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea from December 24, 1965, until he returned home on April 22, 1967. He married his sweetheart Patsy Simerl on October 12, 1968, and was devoted to her until his death. Tom and Pat were excited to start a family, and they were thrilled to welcome Chris in 1970 and Michelle in 1972.
Tom spent most of his working years at Kearney & Trecker, and Harnischfeger as a machinist, retiring in 2012.
Family and friends meant everything to Tom. He enjoyed chopping wood, wood working and yard work. His meticulous care of the pool made him everyone's favorite pool boy! If someone needed help, he was always there. He found joy in playing cards and having shots (cough cough) and watching the Brewers.
Traveling worldwide was a favorite pastime that he enjoyed with many family and friends. In addition to his family, Tom and Pat also traveled with lifelong friends Jerry and Kathy, Vicki and Rich, John and Corinne, and Don and Eileen.
As a proud veteran, Tom, along with his son Chris, got to spend the day together in Washington DC through the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight on November 4, 2017. He joined VFW Post 5716 and, as a lifetime member, he was asked to become a member of their Honor Guard.
Tom will be deeply missed and cherished by many.
Sincere gratitude to Allison at Lymphedema Therapy, as well as Aurora At Home Hospice for their compassionate care of Tom and his family.
