Obituary

Thomas John Borchert – 07/04/1969 – 01/08/2022

Thomas "Tom" John Borchert, 52, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, died after an extremely long, painful, relentless and courageous fight with, what began with Covid-19, then had suffered from the unimaginable complications this horrible virus brought to a man who was in perfect health prior to his diagnosis and hospitalization on September 25th, 2021. After 4 months of fighting to get healthy, Tom passed at Froedert Memorial Lutheran Hospital surrounded by his loving and supportive family, Deborah, Jacob, Kayleigh and their sweet puppy, Molly on January 08, 2022, who will all continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Tom leaves a legacy of love and integrity with his family and those who knew him. He has left behind wonderful memories and an exemplary example of a loving husband, best friend, father, son, brother and friend. We are grateful for each and every day we got to see his glowing smile, for the lessons learned and all the jokes we shared. He was spiritually strong and compassionate and had a clever sense of humor. Above all, he loved and cherished his family, especially his children and friends.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, Deborah Borchert of 26 years, Son Jacob Borchert, daughter Kayleigh Borchert, parents Kenneth and Kathleen Borchert, brother Timothy (Julie) Borchert, sisters Tammy Borchert and Tracy (Kyle) Mayo, nephews Joshua Borchert, Parker Mayo and Pierson Mayo and many loving, extended family members and friends. He was also preceded in death by his first born son, Christian Micah Borchert, as well as maternal and paternal grandparents, extended family and dear friends.

Tom was first and foremost an amazing, supportive and loving father, an irreplaceable husband and best friend, a loyal and caring son and brother and a great and lifelong friend to everyone that he met.

Tom loved sports, especially football, baseball and softball. Tom's favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers, favorite baseball team was any team his son Jacob was a player (he currently plays for the University of Wisconsin Steven's Point Baseball Team) and favorite softball team was any team his daughter was a player (currently Eisenhower High School Softball Team). His other favorite hobbies included collecting classic cars, like his adored 1968 Red Camaro, collecting any and all signed sports memorabilia and spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Tom graduated from Eisenhower High School in New Berlin in 1987 and made many lifelong friends. He attended Real Estate School after high school, but choose a different career path. Tom loved his occupation as a 50% owner to 1st Quality Auto Sales and Service with his beloved brother, Tim Borchert, since 1996, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his untimely and unexpected death.

Tom began his working career as a warehouse worker for Roundy's, became a Teamster and a Union Steward. He made many lifelong friends and, even after leaving Roundy's to pursue his dream of becoming a business owner, he remained close with all his brothers from Roundy's and the Teamsters.

Tom spent his free time watching various sports games live and on TV; Coaching little league until his son, Jacob, finished 8th grade; traveled around the world and the United States for baseball and softball games to see his children play the sports they loved almost every weekend and sometimes longer throughout the years; He played softball until his son began t-ball; Tom also enjoyed spending quality time with the love of his life, Debbie, and sweet puppy, Molly, whether it be watching movies, traveling, watching favorite shows on TV, going on date nights that he secretly planned or just cuddling close when they had a free moment together. Tom was always there to help relatives and friends in need with household projects, fixing and buying cars, lending an ear and a hug for support, coached different sports or whatever else people needed him for. We will miss him more than words can express. We love you. Be at peace.
