Obituary

Loving husband of 31 years to Ellen Massick (Thode).

Loving father of Cheryl (James) Young, Stepchildren, Kevin (Maria) Gardner, Darin (Chrystal) Gardner, Shelley (Vince) Paduano, Brian (Jessica) Gardner.

Brother-in-law of Lois Ludwig.

Dear Grandpa of Christopher (Niki) Young, Stephanie (Eric) Rajkowski, Alex, Andrew, Trey, Dawson, Maddie, Nicholas, Logan, Sophie, Moxie, Jurnee, Steven and Matthew. Great grandfather of Lane Young.

Preceded in death by first wife Beverly (Bassett) of 32 years, brother, Bruce Massick and sister, Barbara Horne. Mother Lorraine (Henry) Hanson, Father Stephen (Mary) Massick.

His journey began on January 28th, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI. He spent his happy childhood in the town of Butler, Wisconsin.

He joined the Air Force and made Staff Sergeant. His favorite base was San Diego. His career was spent in manufacturing, working over 20 years for Ladish in Cudahy, WI.

Over the years he liked playing his guitar, listening to his records-especially old time music, painting, calligraphy, reading history book about WW II, watching PBS, perfecting the grandpa Wally gymnastic move, watching the birds & squirrels outside his patio door, giving out his "wise" advise, and having his hand always on the remote.

His greatest achievement was becoming a pilot and having his own airplane, a 1959 Cessna 150.

He was happiest at home with his wife Ellen & dogs Scooter and then Freddy.

He was so happy to be able to make it back home after a long hospital stay where he passed away peacefully with family on April 9th, 2021.
